Wow! six months passed in the blink of an eye. The launch of Kolo Magazine at Hilton Hotel in Yaounde on February 25, 2023 was spectacular. Guests appreciated the quality and its content. Yet that night, I had one question in my mind: how can we make it better? I set out to create a world-class Pan-African magazine, a bridge between Africans in the diaspora and those in the continent. It starts with interviewing the “right people”. Life is about connecting people and building authentic relationships that leaves an indelible impact, that change your perspective on life.
I remember the eternal voice of LokuaKanza as he serenaded my team with some musical notes with his guitar at the end of his interview. BlickBassy, a troubadour and activist for the authenticity of everything African. You cannot meet Cathy LatiwaAllara and leave without feeling inspired or RaissaMariame, a lady, breaking down stereotypes about women in construction project management
It was 2 p.m. on a rainy Tuesday afternoon, in the middle of traffic jam in Yaounde. I drove for an hour each way to pick up Lydol for her interview and photo shoot. Despite the delays, her composure and patience were memorable. Remy Nsabimana, an inspiring journey through two of Africa’s deadliest conflicts to become an award-winning journalist. Anthony Ifeanyi, my Nigerian brother, I am proud of your professional achievements. Personally, I am most proud of your true essence as a person
If you love coffee or tea, let us take you through some of Africa’s finest cafés to enjoy the aromas of pure coffee, made in Africa. Finally, I would like to thank my entire team. Your passion and dedication allow us to grow and succeed. My sincere gratitude to our advertisers and sponsors. Stay connected. The dream continues!
